Hospital Errors Plague Medicare Patients
1/26/2011A study in November 2010 from the U.S. Inspector General's office reveals that hospitals are not always safe places for patients, especially elderly patients.
Elderly patients suffer a disproportionate number of "adverse events," including falls and medical errors, many of which are preventable. Here are links to articles in the New York Times and USA Today that were published shortly after the report was released.
If you suspect your elderly loved one has suffered from a medical mistake in a hospital or nursing home, seek the advice of an elder neglect and abuse attorney. You may be able to help your loved one and other vulnerable elderly patients.
